The Green Color Wheel

Tuesday, December 23rd, 2008

In our December Consumer Buying Trends, KBDN reports on a study conducted by Moen, Inc. which found that green is not solely a Gen-X, Gen-Y fad (as you probably already knew–but isn’t it nice to have research to back it up?).

California Air Resource Board Regs Take Effect Jan. 1

Saturday, December 20th, 2008

Green Wish List, 2009

Tuesday, December 16th, 2008

As the year comes to a close, and K&B Sustainable celebrates six months of life, it seems appropriate to take a look back as we prioritize for ‘09.  What did we learn in 2008 that will shape 2009?  What goals did we set that we did not accomplish and why did we fail to achieve them? What kind of green presence will we see at IBS and K/BIS in the new year? What am I going to do with this Richlite ball I got at the Greenbuild?

These questions and more have defined my work for 2008, and the search for answers (especially about this great ball of Richlite) will be the driving force for 2009.

Implementing Green: Grassroots

Monday, December 1st, 2008

What’s more green than a grassroots effort? How about a green grassroots effort?

Listening to the needs and wants of your clientele has always been a central part of the design business–put this to work as you move forward with your plans for implementing sustainability, as well.  One firm did and here’s the result:

This page, The GREEN Corner, was launched on the Sorensen Design Group in response to the expressed growing interest in sustainability among the firm’s client base, according to executive v.p. Steve Sorensen.

Efforts like this one allow Sorensen and his firm the opportunity to demonstrate a commitment to sustainability and positions the firm as experts in the field–all just by publicizing things the firm is already doing.
