Forte Buying Group President C.J. Schnakenberg of Chicago Brass explains how to capture whole-home customized door hardware projects at the recent Forte Door Hardware Conference in Chicago. More than 60 showroom professionals participated in the first annual event, organization leaders said.

Bethesda, MD — The Forte Buying Group, a Bethesda, MD-based buying organization of decorative plumbing and hardware showrooms, has concluded its first annual Forte Door Hardware Conference, a two-day gathering that attracted more than 60 showroom professionals and was aimed at providing training in managing high-end, high-volume whole home door hardware projects.

“The conference exceeded every expectation we had,” said Forte Education Committee Chairperson Douglas Hermance, of the Houston, TX-based Westheimer Plumbing & Hardware. “We accomplished our goal of bringing the expertise and resources of the nation’s largest decorative plumbing and hardware buying group to individuals in our showrooms who are the face of our industry,” he added.

“Not only was Forte able to provide valuable training to improve sales professionals’ skill sets, attendees also realized that they are part of a vibrant dynamic industry and have access to a nationwide network that they can tap to address daily challenges and unique problems.”

The conference, which featured two distinct educational tracks, included a tour of Chicago Brass’ Highwood, IL showroom.

Forte Buying Group represents more than 250 independent decorative plumbing and hardware showrooms throughout North America.
