Henderson, NV — The International Solid Surface Fabricators Association has submitted documents to the American Woodwork Institute to add a solid surface standard to the AWI Quality Standards Illustrated.

According to ISSFA, the action means that solid surface, in its various forms, will now be described in the AWI Quality Standards. Provided will be technical detail and other information pertaining to the specification, installation and fabrication of solid surface materials.

“This is great news for all ISSFA members, especially those involved with commercial and government spec work,” said Bill Wolle, director of education.

The documents received final approval from the ISSFA board of directors in June.

“ISSFA is proud of this, as it represents a uniform standard that will help increase awareness of the various materials and their applications,” ISSFA said.
