Ann Sacks has unveiled Versailles Revolution, its latest collection of mirrored tiles. The line joins a series of illusionary tiles that create a unique combination of industrial edge with a mirrored effect. The tile’s composition resembles aged mirror with its mottling and dramatic colorations, yet weaves in a textural element for a modern twist to the design. Handcrafted in the U.S., the medium is double paned annealed tempered plate glass that is imbedded with steel wiring, which is removed before the glass cools to create a field of depth and dimensional, geometric relief. The glass is hand-silvered by artisans employing 18th century mirror-making techniques, then hand-sanded to bring out its natural imperfections and finally hand-cut in age-old craft. Versailles Revolution is offered in four patterns – Brick Offset, Argyle, Small Hexagon (shown) and Large
Hexagon – in a shimmering palette of Silver Light, Silver Medium or Silver Dark. The four designs come in 4”x8”, 8”x8” and 8”x16” field tiles and are suitable for all vertical interior surfaces.
