Solid Surface 2004 Draws Over
3,500
Las Vegas Some 3,500 attendees were on hand for Solid Surface
2004, the International Solid Surface Fabricators Association
(ISSFA) trade show and conference held here.
Solid Surface 2004 owned by Kitchen & Bath Design News’
parent company, Cygnus Business Media
took place at the Las Vegas Convention Center, March 4-6.
Supported by K&BDN and sister publications SolidSurface and
Wood Digest, as well as by ISSFA, the show gave fabricators and
design professionals a chance to view some of the latest products
from 140 exhibiting firms occupying more than 41,000 sq. ft. of
exhibit space. The show educational and networking
opportunities.
Acquired by Cygnus Business Media from ISSFA in 2003, the show
continues to grow in stature, according to Robert Oxley, executive
v.p. of ISSFA. “The transition from ISSFA to the show management at
Cygnus was excellent. Tom Pellet [of Cygnus Expositions] and his
team [made sure] to retain the old flavor and still be new and
improved,” he said.
He cited a marked increase in color as a key trend seen at the
show, and added: “In the past, emphasis was on the product
what you do with it, mold it, bend it, router it. This year,
the focus was on the design possibilities rather than how to
fabricate.”
