Chapel Hill, NC — The 2008 SEN Design Group Spring Conference, conducted recently in Florida, “was a flourishing success,” with more than 340 design firm personnel and vendors in attendance, the organization announced.

The three-day event featured an awards ceremony honoring the group’s outstanding members and supporters, according to Ken Peterson, CKD, president of the Chapel Hill, NC-based SEN Design Group.

Peterson announced the following members as SEN Design Group’s 2007 Award recipients:

• Businessperson of the Year Award (M.A. Peterson Award): Carol Lindell, president of DCI Home Resource, Charlotte, NC, and Jack Kellerman, president of Kellerman Kitchen & Bath, Baton Rouge, LA. (Kellerman is the only member of SEN Design Group to ever receive the award in two consecutive years.)
• Rising Star Award: Craig Malkani, CKS Kitchen & Bath Studio, Durham, NC.
• Steady Star Award: Steven Erenrich, president of Patete Kitchen & Bath, Carnegie, PA.
• Newcomer of the Year Award: Ken Kohley, president of Blue Ribbon Millwork.
• Representative of the Year Award: Tim Bates, national sales manager of Holiday Kitchens.

Other special, individual honors presented at the SEN Awards Banquet went to the top 10 SEN Member Purchases in 2007. In ascending order, they were: Chuck Chwastyk, Custom Crafters; Jerry Crum, Keidel Supply; Terry Barth, Kitchen King; Dan Luck, Bella Domicile; Kevin Telaak, Appliance Associates; Bruce Bauerle, Five Star Kitchens; Carol Lindell, DCI Home Resources; Jack Kellerman, Kellerman Kitchen & Bath, Larry Lowenthal, Gilman Screens & Kitchens, and George Menihtas, Boston Kitchens.

The next SEN Design Group national conference is scheduled to take place in September 2008 in Denver.
