High Point, NC — Duratex/Deca, a major worldwide supplier of bathroom fixtures and related products, has acquired Ceramica Monte Carlo, a Brazilian producer of vitreous china, the company announced.
Coupled with the recent purchase of American Standard operations in Brazil, the production capacity of the firm will reach seven million pieces per year, corporate officials said.
With the added capacity, Deca will hold 30% of the total Brazilian capacity of production of vitreous china and will be among the 10 largest producers in the world.
“Besides meeting Brazilian demand, this production capacity will also allow Deca to meet the growing international demand for its products,” a company spokesperson said.
Duratex, a member of the Itaúsa Group, has exported products to North America for some 30 years.
