Florence, KY — Aristech Acrylics LLC, the Florence, KY-based manufacturer of solid surface materials and acrylic sheet for hot tubs, baths, showers and related applications, has announced its acquisition by SK Capital Partners, LP, a New York private equity firm specializing in the specialty chemical industry.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

According to SK Capital officials, the firm “has been interested in investing in Aristech for many years.” When Mitsubishi Corp., Aristech Acrylics’ prior owner, began the sales process, SK Capital “was determined to purchase Aristech,” corporate officials said.

“We are thrilled with the energy provided by SK Capital’s investment,” said David Knowles, president of Aristech Acrylics.

“While we remain focused on profitability, we now can actively seek opportunities to develop the company.”
