What it is: An app to figure out the exact solar path of the sun based on location.
What it does: Users can employ a flat compass view or an augmented reality 3D view showing the solar path, its hour intervals, its equinox, winter and summer solstice paths, rise and set times, twilight times, magic hours and more. The app uses GPS, a magnetometer and gyroscope to find the correct solar position and path for the user’s current position. The cost of the app is $9.99.
Who it’s for: Designers, architects, homeowners.
Why kitchen and bath designers need it: Lighting is an important element of any design. When remodeling, the designer will want to know where and when sunlight enters the room in order to maximize natural light and minimize glare.
