RESTON, VA — Sales of kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities continue to defy housing and remodeling headwinds, remaining on their yearlong upward trajectory through September, the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association reported.
According to the KCMA’s latest monthly Trend of Business Survey, participating manufacturers reported an increase of 23.8% in overall cabinet and vanity sales in September compared to September of 2021. Custom cabinet/vanity sales were up 8.4% over the same month the previous year, while sales of semi-custom units gained 32.5% and stock cabinet sales were up 21.9%, the Reston, VA-based KCMA said.
Year-to-date sales remained robust through the first nine months of 2022, up 17.6% over January-September of 2021, according to the KCMA, which reported year-to-date gains in custom (16.0%), semi-custom (15.9%) and stock units (19.2%).
