RESTON, VA — Sales of kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities posted sharp growth in calendar year 2022, although the monthly growth pace declined in December, the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association reported.
According to the KCMA’s latest monthly Trend of Business Survey, participating manufacturers reported that overall cabinet and vanity sales were up 16.4% in 2022 compared to the previous year. Annual gains were led by a 17.8% increase in sales of custom cabinets, while semi-custom cabinet rose 17.4% and stock units gained 15.5%, according to the Reston, VA-based KCMA.
After 12 months of robust double-digit gains, however, the KCMA reported an increase of only 9.7% in overall cabinet and vanity sales for December 2022 compared to the same month the previous year.
December custom cabinet/vanity sales were up 24.8% over December of 2021, while sales of semi-custom units gained 19.3% and stock cabinet sales rose a scant 0.8%, the KCMA reported.
