Before
Jonas Carnemark of CARNEMARK design + build was enlisted by a couple who had purchased this Washington, DC condo as a second home. Although the condo featured fantastic views of the Potomac River and an enviable zip code, it was badly in need of an update – particularly the kitchen, which seemed to be a holdover from the 1980s.

After
Carnemark’s clients craved a combination of efficiency and luxury, with ample storage and elegant finishes. Glossy white perimeter cabinets with contrasting matte brown island and tall cabinetry deliver storage with style, while sliding panels on either side of the range offer additional hidden storage space. The eat-in peninsula features under-counter freezer drawers and microwave for space saving, while nickel and glass doors offer a space to display favorite pieces, as well as a touch of glamor. The real show-stealer is the marble-look Caesarstone ceramic surface that clads the countertops and backsplash, delivering a high-end feel with deceptively easy maintenance.
