CEDIA Organizers Laud Virtual Trade Show
ALPHARETTA, GA — CEDIA Expo, the premier trade event for the intelligently built environment, recently completed one of the first completely virtual trade shows for the custom integration and design communities, including involvement from a wide range of manufacturers, design firms, architects and builders with kitchen/bath industry ties.
With 110 virtual exhibitors, more than 80 education courses, 18 panel discussions, four keynotes and a series of networking opportunities, the CEDIA Expo Virtual Experience, conducted Sept. 15-17, “re-established connections and was the event where new products were launched into the CI channel,” show organizers said.
Some 7,600 trade professionals participated in the digital event, which was staged during to the COVID-19-related cancellation of the annual live event, sponsors added. A Design + Connection track was anchored by the National Kitchen & Bath Association. CEDIA also announced the establishment of the CEDIASTRONG Scholarship Fund, aimed at providing grants to up-and-coming home technology talent.
“While we all wish we could have been together this year for CEDIA Expo, this year’s show displays the perseverance, creativity and loyalty displayed by the individuals that make up our industry, said Ashley Sprengnether, associate show director for CEDIA Expo. “Our exhibitors and attendees were ‘all in’ in order to support the digital experience and saw a lot of value with the digital format as it connected them with an international audience that is not as accessible with a live show.”
Virtual programming will be live on cediaexpovirtual.com until December 31. The next CEDIA Expo is scheduled for September 1-3, 2021 in Indianapolis.
