Chief Architect Makes Donation
COEUR D’ALENE, ID — Chief Architect Software announced it is building a spec home in Coeur d’Alene, ID, and will be donating all profits from its sale to a local housing cause through St. Vincent de Paul. Construction is expected to begin this spring and be completed in August for the area’s Parade of Homes. The home will be approximately 3,500 sq. ft. on a half-acre lot and is expected to be in the upper 10% price range.
Through a self-funded program known as House for Homes, Chief Architect, as the lead sponsor, will provide the financing and its software for the home’s design. Other early sponsors include: Young Construction, H2A Architects, BC Engineers, Cambria and Jenn-Air.
“The project began for the purpose of staff education, since we train our professional customer base throughout the U.S. As the project evolved, it was a natural fit to sell the home and give back to the community. We chose St. Vincent de Paul’s housing program since it provides support for so many in the Coeur d’Alene area. The initial sponsors have been a huge help throughout the design phase,” said Greg Wells, president and CEO of Chief Architect. “We are looking for additional product sponsors – doors, windows, cabinets, flooring, etc. – that would like to participate, show off their latest products at the Parade of Homes, and, of course, support a great cause for the community and those who are in need of housing or housing assistance.”
