WASHINGTON, DC – To help program participants better understand the strategies for building, verifying, and promoting WaterSense labeled homes, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has released a new Technical Reference Manual for WaterSense Labeled Homes.
The manual outlines the details of the WaterSense Labeled Homes Program from design through certification. It includes 20 stand-alone fact sheets focused on specific solutions for water efficiency that are either mandatory to earn the WaterSense label for homes or strategies that can be used to achieve the 30 percent efficiency required by the WaterSense Specification for Homes, Version 2.0. Fact sheet topics include: WaterSense labeled toilets, faucets, and showerheads; dishwashers and clothes washers; hot water delivery; metering; leak detection, monitoring, and inspections to ensure a home is free of leaks; landscape and irrigation design; and pools and other outdoor water features.
