ELLICOTT CITY, MD — A.J. Ballantine, owner of Cornerstone Remodeling, LLC in Ellicott City, MD, has been honored with the annual “Fred Case Remodeling Entrepreneur of the Year Award,” contest sponsors announced.
The annual award, which recognizes firms that exemplify innovation within the remodeling industry, was presented to Ballantine by Bruce Case, president and CEO of Case Architects & Remodelers, which operates design studios in Bethesda, MD, Washington, DC and Falls Church and Alexandria, VA.
This year’s awards program, which was reimagined to take the COVID-19 pandemic into consideration, required entrants to state a business initiative their firm implemented that focused on a creative and effective business measure taken in the face of the pandemic. Case presented the award to Ballantine as part of the opening keynote of the virtual 2020 Remodeling Show. The judges’ selection was based on Cornerstone Remodeling’s “strong systems and processes, its decision-making during Covid-19 shutdowns, and how quickly they instituted a buttoned-up approach to virtual client meetings and sales calls,” Bruce Case said.
Three 2020 finalists were also cited: Joseph Irons of Irons Brothers Construction, Shoreline, WA; Seth Larson of Stel Builders Inc. and Resilient Roofing, Inc., San Diego, and Von Raisanen of TraVek Inc., Scottsdale, AZ.
