Gail O’Rourke knows cabinetry. Beginning her career as a custom wood worker, she earned her stripes working for several independent dealerships. O’Rourke developed a following because of her commitment to excellence, and eventually started her own company, White Wood Kitchens in Sandwich and Kingston, MA, where she is president and lead designer.
O’Rourke attributes her success to focusing on and catering to her design/build and contractor partners, giving them the confidence to deliver functional and elegant kitchens on time and on budget and exceeding customer expectations. On deciding to partner with contractors and design/build clients, she notes, “I took ownership of the projects that they brought me and helped them not only with what we were experts in, but assisted in making their businesses better. We take pride in developing the relationships with our builders, understanding how to work within their project plans to ensure their project goes smoothly. If there are issues, they are dealt with quickly and effectively with the least amount of impact to the rest of the project.,” she remarks.
The highlight of her career, notes O’Rourke, was reaching her 10-year revenue and growth goal in just six years.
