Greenwich Village Loft

The master bath design in this loft in New York City’s Greenwich Village neighborhood was all about creating a place to unwind. New York’s Robert Kahn Architecture designed a master bath, powder room and guest bath within the home. In the master bath, Kahn created a spa-like atmosphere with a teak hot tub in a built-in surround from which views of Manhattan can be seen, two lavatories on a floating slab in Absolute Black and a large, open shower complemented by Fantini’s Riviera collection. “The inspiration for the master bath was a luxurious spa, a place to spend time and relax,” said Kahn. The walls are floor-to-ceiling Afrormosia (African teak), with floors out of Galaxy Schist – a stone that is used throughout Manhattan – in a satin finish. An adjoining room houses the toilet and bidet, also furnished with the Fantini Riviera collection. Heated floors add a luxurious touch, while a built-in sound system helps to create the Zen atmosphere desired.
