KBIS Names Winners

While the exhibitor portion of the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show may have been lost this year, the informative conferences and festive events that are an integral part of this annual meeting of the kitchen and bath trade were still celebrated and enjoyed by attendees. The virtual trade show, which took place from Feb. 9-12 and was hosted by the National Kitchen & Bath Association, played host to thousands of attendees who were there to strengthen their design and business knowledge, learn about the latest products and technology and celebrate a most unpredictable year.

Awards are a big part of the festivities during KBIS, and this year’s recipients showed that they have what it takes to move the industry forward. Recognizing the most innovative new kitchen and bath products, The Best of KBIS 2021 awards narrowed the list of 16 finalists down to the top few.

Taking honors as Best of Show was the Dekton Craftizen Collection by Cosentino. Designed for flooring and cladding, Craftizen pays homage to the craftsman techniques and takes on the look of Venetian stucco.

In the Kitchen category, the Gold award was presented to Emtek for its Emtek Select Knobs door knob collection. The line includes mix-and-match styles and finishes for knobs, stems and rosettes. Silver honors went to the Flo by Moen Smart Sump Pump Monitor, a device that uses smart technology to help homeowners reduce the risk of flooding as a result of failed sump pumps by providing continuous monitoring and alerts when potential failures are detected.

Turning to the Bath, the Gold award was presented to TOTO for its GC Touchless Faucet. Inspired by ancient Japanese temples’ entrance columns, the faucet features a timeless design and incorporates TOTO’s SoftFlow technology and the revolutionary ECOPOWER self-generating hydropower technology. At Silver, the Kohler Moxie Showerhead + Wireless Speaker with Amazon Alexa gained a lot of attention during the show. The showerhead features a full-coverage spray, while the portable speaker delivers specialized tuning for the unique acoustic dynamics of the bathroom.

The Best of KBIS Impact Gold award was presented to TandemLED by Task Lighting, which features two-wire (tandem) operation and tunable white LED lighting technology that adjusts LED lights from Warm White 2700K to Daylight White 5000K. The system offers wireless remote for tuning the color temperature of the new WAV Smart Control system that controls lights via smartphone app or voice command. The Impact Silver award winner was the LG Studio WashTower, a single-unit laundry solution that takes up half the floor space while tackling ultra-large loads.
