This kitchen, the dated product of an assemblage of mismatched additions built in the 1990s, was in desperate need of an update. Justin Sharer of Sharer Design Group – for whom ‘practical luxury’ is a motto – was tasked with creating a space that would be both eye-catching and meant to be lived in.
In order to avoid disturbing the existing HVAC and plumbing, the soffit above the bar hutch had to be maintained. The remodeled kitchen boasts Bakes & Kropp inset custom cabinets, which offer plenty of storage and practical features such as pull-out serving trays, and appliances including wall ovens and a range by Thermador. The design team elevated the aesthetic of the room by incorporating a striking backsplash by Artistic Tile, as well as a grand custom walnut hood.
