NAR BUSTAMANTE
Nar Fine Carpentry, Inc., Carmichael, CA
This 274-sq.-ft. showroom needed an appliance display that really represented modern design ideas and function. The goal was to incorporate the complete appliance lineup in a way that felt both luxurious and like it was in someone’s home, without it feeling too appliance heavy. To achieve an upscale feel, Nar Bustamante of Nar Bustamante Fine Carpentry in Carmichael, CA, used new materials and design details in a distinctive way.
One challenge faced by Bustamante was the request from the client that the sequence and orientation of the appliances be a certain way. “The key detail of the Bosch brand identity is to have three wall units lining up horizontally for its aesthetic and functional characteristics,” he states. Specific, corporate-approved colors also limited the design. But, through the innovative use of materials, Bustamante was able to achieve a warm, luxurious and modern-looking display.
For example, three Bosch ovens were incorporated, side by side, wrapped in Pulsar quartz from Silestone by Cosentino for an unexpected design feature that showcases both the appliances and the stone.
Columbia Brite White contemporary cabinets are featured on the perimeter, providing a glossy backdrop to the stainless steel appliances. Included along the perimeter are a range paired with a hood, both from Thermador, as well as a Bosch steam oven and microwave oven. Drawer appliances and refrigerators from Thermador are also featured. A Franke sink and MGS Boma S faucet sit below the showroom’s front window.
The complete list of appliances requested was incorporated into the design, as well as several additional pieces. Many of the dishwashers and one of the refrigerators were fully integrated with cabinet panels, which keeps the space from feeling overwhelmed by appliances.
The island cabinetry from Columbia provides a contrast in Pewter Pine. A number of different cooktops are set in the Dekton Sirocco countertop. The cabinets sport Europa Tab Pulls and Square Appliance Pulls from Top Knobs.
A Porcelanosa backsplash in Ona Natural, and Arizona Tile’s Basaltina Mocha tile on the floor add the finishing touches.
