Cammi Werling, Cammi Werling Designs, Jupiter, FL
This Florida home’s waterfront location and outdoor kitchen and entertaining space had a tremendous impact on the design of the indoor kitchen. The homeowners wanted an elegant yet casual space with a color scheme that reflected the water view.
Creating a warm and inviting gathering space can be a challenge in a space as large as 474 square feet, but Cammi Werling of Cammi Werling Designs in Jupiter, FL incorporated two islands and a peninsula, bringing function and focus to the room. Multiple cooks can work while family members and guests can assemble and visit.
The large hood is the focal point and is directly across from the fireplace. The hood is white with satin nickel trim to complement the Grabill Square Beaded Inset white cabinetry along the perimeter and non-integrated appliances, including a Wolf 24″ microwave and Wolf 30″ double oven to the left and the Wolf 48″ range below. Satin nickel chicken wire is featured in the upper display cabinets, coordinating with the satin nickel hardware throughout the space. The perimeter cabinets are topped with natural stone countertops, which play off of the watery-toned mixed media backsplash tile. An integrated Sub-Zero refrigerator and Sub-Zero freezer are located along the far wall.
Aqua is the contrasting color of choice for the drink bar and prep island, providing a Caribbean aesthetic reflecting the turquoise waters. Both have walnut tops that complement the wood of the second island, which acts as a transition piece into the open family area, while serving as a buffet setting. Each side of the prep island features a cutout area where a small stool is tucked away for sitting when doing prep work. The island also includes a Blanco 304 Series Sink and Bosch dishwasher.
