Lenore Weiss, AIA, NCARB, LEED-AP, founder, Lenore Weiss Studios in Chicago, IL, views each project as an opportunity to support the unique needs of her very diverse group of clients, while doing so in a meaningful way. Beyond scale or scope, whether public (kitchen or gathering space) or quite private (bathrooms), she utilizes design strategies in her work that originate from a myriad of sources to delight her clients. She draws inspiration from ancient disciplines ranging from feng shui to neuroscience’s modern metrics and evidence-based-design, as well as her extensive international travel.
The designer is passionate about sharing her perspective and has done so with a design book she coauthored, through lectures, and as a guest on radio shows. Her many articles and blogs offer advice to help people learn how they can shape their surroundings to function and feel the best they can, viewing the very concept of space itself as an empowerment tool.
Weiss graduated with an architectural degree from the University of Illinois at Champaign, with studies in interior design and psychology. Through the University of Illinois Study Abroad Program, she attended the Ecole d’Architecture de Versailles in France and was later asked to return as a visiting instructor.
