Interactive design process leads designer to greater customer collaboration

Mark T. White, CMKDB, established Kitchen Encounters, a family-owned enterprise in Annapolis, MD in 1981 with a focus on meeting and exceeding client expectations. To that end, White, a native Annapolitan, developed an Interactive Design Process, and believes systematic client involvement leads to greater client satisfaction.

The company’s showroom is in the heart of the Annapolis Design District in a converted 1920’s Cape Cod that features a variety of vignettes showcasing products in a warm and inviting atmosphere.

White has received many design awards, and his projects have appeared on HGTV and in national and regional publications. He has served on the board of directors for the National Kitchen and Bath Association and delivered educational seminars at chapter meetings and industry shows around the country.

In addition, he has been a judge for NKBA and other industry design competitions, and is a member of the Baltimore Washington Chapter’s Hall of Fame. White also helped develop and has taught the kitchen and bath design courses at Anne Arundel Community College and is one of the founding members and past president of the Annapolis Design District.
