With both an MBA and a degree and background in architecture, Mary Miksch, LEED AP, CAPS, Assoc. AIA, of Neil Kelly Co., in Portland, OR, combines her gift and passion for design with an equal talent for inspiring and developing people.
During her eight years as a design/sales consultant, she consistently specified, estimated and delivered smartly designed projects that earned her clients’ trust and praise, while creating new tools and techniques that have been deployed throughout the company.
When the pandemic disrupted normal business operations, Miksch conceived of and launched Neil Kelly University, an online space where employees connected to share best practices and record classes focused on everything from design education to new software to internal company operations. NKU helped the Neil Kelly team leverage the time available during the shutdown into an opportunity for growth. During this same period Miksch was completing her MBA through the University of Oregon. Her Capstone project was focused on the generational transformation of the workplace and how investing in people improves the bottom line.
Now director of organizational development and training, Miksch is a member of the Neil Kelly Leadership Team. Her work focuses on finding ways to improve operational effectiveness while fostering a commitment to Neil Kelly’s long-standing culture and values.
