BETHLEHEM, PA — The National Kitchen & Bath Association has restructured its longstanding Certification Program, with revisions to the association’s CKBD and CMKBD programs, the Bethlehem, PA-based NKBA announced.
The program restructuring, according to the NKBA “is a reflection of the association’s commitment to provide members with the information and education they need…in an ever-changing kitchen and bath industry.”
Changes to the CKBD program include the following: (a) participants must be an NKBA member to apply; (b) applying is free of charge; (c) applications are accepted year-round; (d) the entire program, study material to exams, is completed online; (e) required exams are offered in the spring and fall during designated times; (f) exams do not need to be completed in any specific order.
Changes to the CMKBD Program include: (a) candidates must have maintained their CKBD status for six consecutive years before applying; (b) applications are accepted free of charge online; (c) once approved, candidates will have one full year to validate the Eligibility Requirements that fall under Education, Professional, Work Experience, Master Portfolio Review and Master Profile criteria.
Among the program-wide changes announced by the NKBA are that qualified candidates are based on education and work experience, and candidates must complete the program in 12 months or less.
