Relocated Kitchen Brightens Up
For Libby Palmieri’s clients, the kitchen of their newly-purchased “forever home” left a lot to be desired. Palmieri, House of L, was tasked with relocating and remodeling the dark, dated existing kitchen in order to fulfill her clients’ extensive wish list.
By relocating the kitchen to an area previously occupied by a sunroom that saw very little use, the design team was able to create the open-concept kitchen of the homeowners’ dreams, while the old kitchen became a new master suite. Because the former sunroom extended beyond the second floor of the home, four large skylights could be installed, allowing plenty of natural light into the space, aided by large windows and steel doors with views of the surrounding gardens. Double islands and an adjacent dining area provide plenty of work and entertaining space.
