Salvatore Ferro

Fans of “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” may remember Salvatore Ferro, CR, CKD, president and CEO of Alure Home Improvements, in Commack, NY, as an eight-time lead project manager for the television series.

Taking his experience from the show and the demand of the market for a quick and efficient remodeling job, Ferro pioneered a systematic approach to kitchen and bathroom remodeling, being able to do a complete gut remodel of a bathroom in five days and kitchen in 10, drastically cutting the time of being in a customer’s home.

This alternative approach became a separate division from Alure’s custom kitchen and bathroom remodeling, and Ferro was able to grow that division into being just as successful as the custom division.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Ferro introduced a design-while-distancing concept to home remodeling by utilizing zoom meetings to get the ball rolling for kitchen and bathroom remodeling projects. This kept the company moving forward even though in-person meetings with prospective customers was not possible.

Ferro received the Industry Legend Award from the Home Improvement Management Summit (HIMS) for his innovation, dedication and leadership, saying that his “creativity, improvisation, risk taking and willingness to share have set a high standard for those who seek excellence in the home-improvement industry.”
