Green, OH —
In today’s world, the word “home” conjures up different images
to different people. While some picture Old World styles and areas filled with
personal treasures, others gravitate toward the cleaner, more simplistic looks
associated with modern living.
Babin Building Solutions draws on the idea of home for its new showroom and
design center, located in Green, OH. “The showroom uses products in an
environment that customers can envision as a home-like setting,” explains
Ed Simsic, president of Babin Building Solutions.
In addition to a range of kitchen displays, the showroom features an entertainment
center, a dining room, workstations, a hutch and bathroom vanities. It even
incorporates windows, entry and interior doors, interior trim and door hardware
to give the overall feel of the home environment.
The 2,850-sq.-ft. facility in Green is the newest location for Babin Building
Solutions, which has its main showroom at its 130,000-sq.-ft. hub location
in Bedford Heights. It also maintains a satellite showroom in Elyria.
“Expanding our showroom locations into the Green/Uniontown area allows
us to reach and serve our growing Akron/Canton customer base,” explains
Simsic.
To celebrate the opening in Green, Babin Building Solutions hosted an open
house for about 40 people. “The event gave us a chance to introduce our
staff, our company and our new showroom to area builders and remodelers,” remarks
Simsic.
Home Style
To achieve the home atmosphere it was seeking, the company enlisted the help
of Merillat, one of its key vendors.
“The layout of the showroom was a combined effort between Merillat and
our in-house design staff,” notes Simsic. The overall design highlights
not only kitchens, but also emphasizes the many other areas of the home where
cabinets can be used.
There are 12 cabinet displays within the showroom, and one working kitchen – “finished
with all of the latest appliances,” he comments. Many of the kitchen
displays are complete, and other areas of the home are represented.
In addition to Merillat, the showroom also displays cabinets from Armstrong
Cabinets, Omega Cabinetry, Dynasty and Crystal Cabinet Works. Topping off
the cabinets are granite, solid surface and laminate countertops. These surfacing
options include products from DuPont Corian, Formica Corp. and Wilsonart.
“We display a wide range of countertop styles, fabricated in our in-house
top facility in Bedford Heights,” states Simsic.
Windows from JELD-WEN and Simonton are also showcased.
Moving Forward
Celebrating its 90th year in business in northeast Ohio, Babin Building Solutions
currently employs approximately 65 people, including four members of the
team at
the Green showroom.
“The new show-room includes an outside sales representative, two in-house
designers and a customer service representative,” adds Simsic.
The company’s Web site acts as a popular aid for customers to keep abreast
of firm’s services and products. In-house designers utilize a software
package from 20-20 Technologies to supply computerized drawings to customers.
“We offer design services, installation and delivery service throughout
a 20-county trading area,” Simsic reports. “We also have quarterly
round-table meetings with area builders to discuss issues that are important
to all of us.” That contact with customers is a key factor in the firm’s
success.
In Fall 2005, the firm was awarded the “Torch Award” from the Better
Business Bureau, which honors area businesses for their integrity and ethical
practices. The firm was also the recipient of the “Business of the Year” award
from the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Greater Cleveland for its philanthropic
efforts.
In that respect, Babin Business Solutions extends the concept of “home” outside
of its showroom environment by caring for the people it serves, both in business
and in life. It’s an environment that continues to make customers feel
right at home.
