Tom Cohn has demonstrated the ability to create communities of like-minded professionals in the kitchen and bath industry, harness their passion and convert ideas into accomplishments that have made a meaningful, positive difference.
Cohn, who is owner of Cohn Communications and exec. v.p. of the Decorative Plumbing & Hardware Association in Bethesda, MD, helped create the DPHA in 2001. Under his direction, the association has become North America’s largest decorative plumbing and hardware trade organization. He is also the author of DPHA’s signature program, a 22-volume modular education program that teaches showroom consultants how to sell premium and luxury decorative plumbing and hardware to architects, designers, custom homebuilders, installers and homeowners.
During his tenure with DPHA, Cohn helped create, manage and promote the DPHA through the DPH Perspectives column in Kitchen & Bath Design News, DPHA Awards and Scholarship programs, the Council of Fellows, and DPHA’s Annual Conference and Product Showcase. He also directed and managed Forte, a decorative plumbing and hardware group purchasing organization for 11 years. As a result he was retained to manage and grow the Bath & Kitchen Business Group. He has helped transform BKBG into a growth partner for independent kitchen and bath showroom distributors and design-build organizations.
