The Ultimate Bachelor Pad

authors Ashley Lapin Olian | January 6, 2018

Montreal’s La Firme took on the task of completely redesigning a two-story penthouse on the water in Old Montreal, including bathrooms upstairs and on the first floor. “Upstairs, every decision was driven by the desire to create a bachelor’s paradise,” noted the company. To achieve this “paradise” upstairs, La Firme created a completely open space, removing the separation between the two bedrooms and two bathrooms. An integrated minibar – as well as DJ and music recording station – were incorporated into the design, in addition to a large, open bathroom facing the client’s bed. The bathtub was placed front and center, and was adorned with a custom Fantini floor-mount bathtub mixer from the Fukasawa collection to accommodate the height of the bathtub. La Firme used glass panels as separators to “delineate different functions within the same open space.” The toilet bowl, bidet and washbasin were concealed in an adjacent nook for privacy.
