What it is: An app that allows users to measure the space around them.
What it does: TapMeasure is a new app that uses augmented reality to get quick measurements and 3-D floor plans, and can also act as a ‘smart’ level for hanging artwork or pictures on the wall. Additional features include: automatic detection of rectangular objects (i.e. doors, windows, artwork, etc.), quick outlining of items on walls or the floor, capability to send a 3-D model to anyone with a simple URL and the ability to export the 3-D model as a SketchUp file, allowing the viewing and editing of the file in both free and pro versions. Note that the app can be used with devices that have iOS 11.0 or later, which means the oldest model of iPhone it is compatible with is the 6s.
Who it’s for: Designers
Why kitchen and bath designers need it: This app is designed with the idea of trying to make tasks as easy as possible for designers. Not only does it allow designers to effortlessly take quick measurements when on site, but it also allows them to save these and send them as a 3-D model with minimal work.
