Gothic Influence in Tile

From: New Ravenna

New Ravenna has interpreted the decadent, gothic style of the Addams Family, delivering handcrafted black mosaics. Nero Marquina and Orpheus Black are polished, tumbled and honed, each finish providing a different surface, absorbing or reflecting light. Glazed Basalto in Dahlia has the added texture of natural geodes, where glaze has pooled to create shiny organic doubloons in Essex, notes the firm. The Venetian honing of Orpheus Black in Coliseum gives the stone a three-dimensional quality. Byron has brushed brass thorns, while Eze reveals the lines of a vulture’s talon in aluminum and Phase to Phase is a moonlit mosaic. Dark rich hues, glimmers of gold and silver, dark florals and textural black on black relay the aesthetic of Gothic romantic design, the company adds. Shown is Queen Mary’s Lace – Noire, a handmade stone mosaic shown with a honed Orpheus Black background and polished Nero Marquina florals, designed by Sasha Bikoff.
