RESTON, VA — Sales of kitchen cabinets and bathroom vanities declined in May for the first time this year, dipping below cabinet/vanity sales in the same month in 2022, the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association reported.
According to the KCMA’s latest monthly “Trend of Business Survey,” released this week, participating manufacturers reported that May cabinet and vanity sales declined 7.8% from the sales posted by participating manufacturers in May of last year. May declines were fueled by a 15.3% drop in sales of semi-custom cabinets, while stock cabinet sales rose 7.1% and custom cabinet sales gained 2.3%, according to the Reston, VA-based KCMA.
Despite the monthly decline, year-to-date sales cabinet and vanity sales through May were up 6.1% compared to the same five-month period in 2022, the trade association added.
